People Have No Idea

People have no idea what it is like to raise a child with special needs or the amount of stress that it causes. People often think that he is just behaving like a normal boy would behave. His behavior even though obnoxious at times is normal for me. I do not like it when people take it upon themselves to try and correct my son. They do not know how hard he has to work to be good. Such a simple task for us and such a struggle for him.  He works so hard at being like everyone else and you know he trys beacuse he dislikes anyone being disappointed. I often hear "I'm such a stupid boy" "I'm just a dumb little kid" "I want to be like everyone else and not have take medication". That last one coming from the little boy who can point out if he is missing one of his medications. He knows them by color and size. He could not remember Concerta, Ritalin, Guanfacine, Abilify, and Melatonin...I love my son and until you have walked in my shoes or have taken care of my son a word of advice do not offer advice because you have NO IDEA...
